Hand Made Framing by Gene Dwiggins. I work with stable kiln dried hardwood. Corners are celebrated and reenforced with hardwood splines of a contrasting species, or hidden using the same species.

This is a collection of frames made from cherry, but just about any hardwood species is fair game.

Accent woods I usually have on hand include:
Cambia Poplar - uniformly dark chocolate brown
Maple - for a lighter contrast
Padauk - a deep red color
Walnut - a medium dark
Wenge - a very dark accent.

Touch the frames to experience the simple joy of smooth wood.
You can see the accents, but you won't feel them.
